Sarah is a contemporary figurative painter, living and working in Hamilton, New Zealand. She paints the figure, often female, in a domestic setting to examine themes that explore relationships; be it relationships with others, ourselves or the environment in which we live. She is interested in cinematic conventions and how they can be employed in painting. Her practice-led PhD investigated how the phenomenon of diffraction generates embodied cognition during the painting process.
